Communication
Daily communication takes
place electronically through emails, faxes, and telecommunication. As the main point-of-contact for various programs, I have
developed competent interpersonal and superb customer service skills to address the needs of IHS, Tribal, and Urban Native
communities and healthcare programs. It is very important to be tactful and kind and to always remember the ultimate mission
to be fulfilled.
Leadership
Office of Continuing Education Program Support Services
As the lead program assistant for the Office of Continuing Education, I am responsible for
training and educating staff in the processes and procedures of running a successful program. The CSC team depends upon my
expertise to provide valuable input to improve processes and assist with correcting system errors.
Teamwork
IHS Clinical Support Center Website Redesign
Participated on a team who
volunteered to head-up the “branding/marketing” of the CSC program including the re-design of the department website
and the presentation of the new website to the entire Area Office staff.
Participation in Extensive Training Programs
Participated in two leadership
training programs. One was three-weeks over a three-month period the other was three weeks over a six-month period. Both training
programs required extensive participation with predetermined teams consisting of members from various parts of the U.S. The
training project required constant communication and organization over the entire period of training to complete a final project.
Conference Support Services
The IHS CSC team participates
together to provide onsite meeting support at larger nationally sponsored conferences. A successful conference requires teamwork
of registration, meeting room A/V set-up, and overall coordination and organization.
